Pella
Why We Use Pella Windows
Windows are one of the most important components in a home. They impact how a home looks, how it feels, and how it performs every single day.
At Burns Construction Group, we choose Pella windows because they offer the right balance of design, durability, and high-performance glass technology suited for our climate.
Designed for Both Beauty and Performance
Windows should elevate the architecture of a home while also performing at a high level. Pella offers clean profiles, strong material options, and a range of configurations that allow us to stay true to the design vision.
Just as importantly, they allow us to match historically accurate architecture. Whether it’s true divided light patterns, traditional proportions, or classic detailing, Pella gives us the flexibility to design windows that feel appropriate to the home, not forced or out of place.
At the same time, their engineering ensures those windows aren’t just beautiful, they’re working for you every day.
Understanding SHGC and U-Factor
When we select windows, we’re not just choosing a style, we’re dialing in performance.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures how much heat from the sun passes through the glass. In our Louisiana climate, we want a lower SHGC to reduce unwanted heat gain and keep interiors cooler.
U-Factor measures how well a window prevents heat transfer. The lower the U-factor, the better the insulation.
Pella offers glass packages that allow us to fine-tune both of these values. That means we can reduce heat gain during the summer while still allowing natural light into the home, improving comfort without sacrificing aesthetics.
Built for the Gulf South Climate
Heat, humidity, and strong sun exposure put real demands on a home’s envelope. Poor window performance can lead to higher energy bills, uneven temperatures, and long-term wear on HVAC systems.
By selecting windows with optimized SHGC and low U-factor ratings, we help control interior temperatures, reduce energy consumption, and create a more consistent indoor environment.
It’s a quieter, more comfortable home that performs the way it should.
Long-Term Durability
Windows are not something you want to revisit in a few years. They need to perform over decades.
Pella’s construction, whether wood-clad, fiberglass, or aluminum-clad options, is designed for long-term durability with minimal maintenance. Tight seals, quality hardware, and proven manufacturing all contribute to windows that hold up over time.
A Clear Difference You Can Feel
This is one of the few features in a home where performance is immediately noticeable. Stand near a high-quality window and you’ll feel the difference, less heat, fewer drafts, and a more comfortable space.
At Burns Construction Group, we believe every component should serve a purpose beyond appearance. Pella windows allow us to deliver homes that are not only visually refined, but thoughtfully engineered for how you live every day.
